It's been three weeks and he hasn’t called. You’ve told your girlfriends you’re over it, but the truth is, you can’t get him off your mind. (Don't you just hate it when that happens?) Who are you kidding? You wish you could get your ex back.
Everything makes you think of your ex-boyfriend: the song on the radio, your favorite sweater, even the drive thru of the local fast food joint (you know exactly what he’d order).
So what do you do when you can’t move forward?--when you wake up in the morning thinking of ways to get your ex back in your life, and go to sleep at night dreaming of ways to make it happen.
Obviously right now you are serious about saving or rekindling your relationship, which, is what led you to this article in the first place. Unfortunately, good intentions will only get you so far. Stepping back in time is going to take a little work. .
With that said, it’s time to leave the marathon phone messages, e-mails and texts behind. That type of behavior doesn’t say “come back to me,” it yells “run away as fast as you can.”
So what can you do?
First, put the focus back on you. Take some time to improve your own personal life. Remember all you learned in Marketing 101 and promote yourself like the fabulous product you are. Remember all the reasons your ex boyfriend fell for you in the first place.
Chances are, once you do, he’ll take a second look. And since you’re no longer e-mailing or texting him every twenty seconds, he might even find the new “old” you deliciously mysterious.
The key to mending a break up is learning to work with human nature rather than attempting to work against it. Get started now!
